The question
My children live with my ex wife and I pay child support each month. The mother isn’t employed and lives with her mother. She used to live in our house but because she isn’t employed the payments on the house haven’t been made resulting in her getting kicked out. She also gives me a very hard time about seeing the children at times which is frustrating. Would getting joint custody and bringing to the court’s attention that she’s not employed be a good idea? We have 4 kids together and it’s really difficult for me to take care of them financially if she’s not financially involved as well. It really puts a strain on me financially due to the fact that I also have to pay rent for my place, amongst other bills/insurance/etc. This also includes providing for the children outside of child support. She doesn’t seem interested in getting a job either. Advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
