The question
My son died intestate in March 2024. Need help regarding a small check. He had nothing when he died. He was buried in a communual grave by the local Sheriff department. He was never married, never had hildren. His prior landlord sent me a check for the refund of his security deposit. However, they made the check payable to The Estate of William Bowden III. There is no estate. I am his biological father, I live in Texas. I cannot deposit the check nor can I cash it. Is there anything I can do?
