The question
Both of my daughters, ages 5 & 10 at the time of incident were lundged at & bit by a large service dog. The youngest dodged the animal when he jumped to her face & he immediately jumped up & bit the 10 year old. Breaking the skin. A police report was made while the store still aloud the customer to shop & check out. Doing nothing to intervene, & refused me ice packs when I went back in to inform the woman to wait & police were on the way. She would not tell me if the animal was vaccinated, did not cooperate. This happened at a Tractor Supply store. My child is now afraid of all dogs. We ended up paying for antibiotics out of pocket & for an office visit the same day for our child. Are we liable to sue the store & the woman of this animal, who is in fact not a certified service animal being in public putting other people in danger.
